I’ve updated the audiostream-meta project hosted on Google Code to include all the updates I’ve made to the original AudioStreamer example from Matt Gallagher. In addition to parsing audio stream metadata the latest code will play AAC and AAC+ V1 (thanks to Brian Stormont) streams. The stream bitrate is also detected and displayed, along with the metadata, on the sample view.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve updated the code to use the newer AudioStreamer sample provided by Matt Gallagher, but I haven’t sent it over to the Google code project. I’ll post the code soon. There are a few forks on github that include the metadata code as well.
Thanks for this Mike. Really good stuff. Would like to hear from you if there are any updates posted.
Hi Mike, thanks for your work, es fantastic, i trie todo something, and i don’t understand how intregrate your code, if i just replace your code form audiostreamer.m in the audiostreamer.m’s matt, don’t work, what have i do? please help me
Unfortunately this code is out of date – Matt has updated it to support many more stream types :-/ Would you be able to update it sometime soon?
@Saulo – This Xcode project should open and run on it’s own.
@David – Check the fork’s of Matt’s code on GitHub. There are some other people working on this same thing:
